Some music is just ahead of its time, some way behind and some just right. This is true for all music and it is especially true for the first release of 'the ambassadors'. In the second half of the 90s, the brittle charm of this music descended upon Berlin's pavements mostly unnoticed.
Apart from a diminishing appearance in the Rote Salon of the Volksb?hne which left the audience in stupor and embarrassment, and a mind-lifting release party at the Pavilion in 1997 - where five hours of professional DJs surrounded the vanishing set of 'the ambassadors' - not much was seen or heard of the duo.
The video accompanying the release on London based 'landspeed records' (which has deceased since) was empathetically filmed and edited by Swedish artist Annika Str?m and has since been screened more often internationally within the arts context than ambassador records ever made their way over any sales desk.
SueMi03 offers you the re-release of the first 4-track 7" vinyl in digital format. However, no digital re-mastering in sight. And no editing of the video sound for sure. We came to like the mitten sound. (rec 08/1996 - mp3launch 02/2001)
