It's been said before about the second release of bands all over the world, but we say it again: this album is more mature. Still 'minimal pop in the best sense' (Hartman / Spex), 'The Same You' feels more like the work of a band than their first release 'Speak to me' from 2002.
'Dominique', the band?s unisex name was chosen as a political statement and since has become the band?s much loved shared pseudonym. Australian artist Dominic Eichler writes most of the lyrics for Dominique. His interest in identity politics and the construction of masculinity leads to many boy meets boy or boy loses boy scenarios, a writing which is still almost entirely absent from mainstream pop, still today being almost exclusively heterosexual.
Released on SueMi and Tete-a-tete.
