You can not really erase it. Once it's in it's in. You have this horror of 'my god, how can we get rid off it', Slavoj Zizek foresaw in an interview by Ulrich Gutmair and Chris Flor for convex tv. in 1998. He was right. Captured digitally, the interview has since transformed itself into various formats and subsequently entered various modes of reproduction in analogue and digital media alike - very much in tune with Zizek's thesis on the uncanny character of digital media and cloning. However, a more radical edit - paying tribute to the inherent horror of the author - had still to come. Here it is.

For the first broadcast, Gutmair already tempered with samples from the interview, particularly the iconic "undelete". Aired August 1998, the radio edit consequently vaporised itself. Years later, SueMi reanimated a mental note and urged Gutmair into his editing desktop to assemble the material once more. Undelete. Side B is an edit of the radio interview, Zizek in his own words on Hysteria, Perversion and Cyberspace.

Inhabiting an age of copyright terror to prohibit undelete horror, we obediently awaited permission, promptly granted: 'OK with me - Slavoj'. Enjoy. (rec 11/2000)
